Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android application Phone Cleaner AI Clean Storage ("the App"), available on Google Play, and developed and published by Open Utility Apps ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
All duplicate-photo detection, storage scanning, and file cleaning happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your WhatsApp messages, chats, or conversations
- The content of your photos, videos, or saved statuses
- Your phone number or contact list
- Any personally identifiable information (PII)
We use Google AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase, which may collect your Advertising ID, device information, IP address, and general app-interaction events (such as which features you open). This is used only to display ads, diagnose crashes, and understand which features are used most — it is never linked to your name, phone number, or WhatsApp identity. You can reset or opt out of your Advertising ID at any time in your device's privacy settings.
2. Permissions We Request
To function properly, Phone Cleaner AI Clean Storage requests the following Android permissions:
- Storage / All files access – Used to scan your device's photos, videos, downloads, and other files so the app can find duplicate and similar photos, large files, junk files, and old screenshots, and to save WhatsApp statuses to your gallery. On Android 11 and above, this relies on the "All files access" special permission, since large-file and junk-file cleaning covers file types beyond standard photos and videos. You can review or turn this off anytime in Settings → Apps → Special app access → All files access.
- WhatsApp media access – Used to read WhatsApp's status and media folders so you can view, save, sort, and clean WhatsApp photos, videos, and statuses. We do not read the content of your chats.
- Camera (optional) – Required only if you use the Sticker Maker to create a sticker from a photo taken in-app, or the QR Scanner to scan a code.
- Internet access – Required to display ads, check for app updates, and run analytics. Storage scanning, duplicate detection, and file cleaning work fully offline and do not require this permission.
We never access your microphone, location, contacts, or call logs.
3. Premium Features
If you purchase Premium, the following apply:
- Private Vault with biometric protection – Photos and files you move into the vault stay on your device behind a biometric lock. They are not uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Smart Album Organizer – Sorts your files into albums (Camera, WhatsApp, Downloads, Screenshots, Videos, Documents) entirely on-device.
- Low Quality & Blur Photo Detection – Runs entirely on-device, the same as our free scanning features.
- Automatic Backup – When enabled, saves your selected photos and files to your own connected Google Drive account, using your own Google sign-in. We do not receive, view, or store a copy of this content on our servers.
- Unlimited Smart Cleaning and Ad-Free Experience – Removes daily cleaning limits and ads; neither involves any additional data collection.
4. Third-Party Services
Phone Cleaner AI Clean Storage uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob – displays ads and may collect your Advertising ID and device data.
- Google Analytics for Firebase – collects anonymous app usage and crash data.
- Google Drive API – used only if you enable Automatic Backup, to save files directly to your own Drive account. We do not access any other files in your Drive.
These services operate under their own privacy policies, which govern any data they process.
5. Data Security
All duplicate detection, file scanning, and cleaning happens locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your photos, videos, or WhatsApp media. If you enable Automatic Backup, your files go directly to your own connected Google Drive account, not to us. We take reasonable technical precautions to protect any data processed within the app.
6. Your Rights and Data Deletion
Phone Cleaner AI Clean Storage has no account system, and we hold no server-side copy of your files or photos — uninstalling the app removes all app data from your device. For the Advertising ID and analytics identifiers described in Section 1, you can reset them or opt out of ad personalization at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads, or through Google's Ads Settings.
If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data associated with you, and to object to its processing, under GDPR or CCPA as applicable. Since we hold no data ourselves beyond what's described above, such requests are generally satisfied by uninstalling the app and adjusting your device's ad settings; for any other question about our data practices, contact Open Utility Apps using the details in Section 9.
7. Children's Privacy
Phone Cleaner AI Clean Storage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to keep it aligned with the Data Safety declarations we file in Google Play Console. Changes will be posted within the app and on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
